Continuing education

The School of Medicine constantly offers teaching-learning activities on different health areas. These activities are included in the programs, courses, seminars, diplomas, congresses, and conferences available for professionals in order to contribute to their academic and professional development.

All the activities of the Outreach Center are highlighted by their quality and academic experience. In order to fulfill our commitment to social responsibility the Center promotes some free activities for all audiences. Furthermore, telepresence modality is used to get closer to population from remote regions through updating of knowledge.

The School of Medicine of Universidad de Antioquia offers continuing training programs in different modalities, which meet health workers’ needs and take into account that they may be working outside the city and even the country.

Training modalities:

In-person training: this program entails the participant's attendance to a physical place, usually in Medellin city, either at the facilities of the School of Medicine or at an events center of the city.

Telepresence and virtual training: in order to meet training and updating demands of health workers, the School offers different e-Learning and videoconference platforms allowing the participation of students outside Medellin and those who prefer to carry out their training process from their homes or work centers. For this reason, a large number of programs are offered, either completely virtually or semi-attendance. However, most of our short in-person courses are offered in telepresence mode allowing access to them in real time through a video conference system. They may also include the use of asynchronous virtual classrooms for consulting study material and carrying out activities such as participating in forums, online solution of quizzes and workshops.
