Mission

Universidad de Antioquia, as a scientific, cultural and historical patrimony of people in the country and department, represents a state university that develops the public service for higher education with criteria of social responsibility, ethic, and academic excellency. Exercising the university autonomy, freedom of teaching, learning and researching, granted by the constitution of Colombia, the School of Medicine, opened to all trend of thoughts and throughout researching, teaching, and outreach, accomplishes its mission to act as center of creation, preservation, transmission, and dissemination of knowledge and culture.

Vision

For the year 2026, Universidad de Antioquia, as a humanistic, inclusive and democratic public institution, will be recognized for its academic proposals oriented towards the generation and social appropriation of knowledge, interdisciplinary nature, interculturality and innovation. A university connected to the world, that recreates itself and that generates solutions from all regions to achieve peace, welfare and a fair and sustainable society.
