Faculties

They are the fundamental units of the academic and administrative structure of the university. They have autonomy in their internal organization, administration of resources, and planning and coordination of the three core purposes of the university: research, teaching, and outreach. They are directed by a dean and the faculty board.

Schools

The main role of schools is the development of professions, supported essentially by applied research. They conduct studies in consolidated lines of research, provide outreach consulting services, and offer master’s degrees, PhDs, postdoctoral programs, as well as undergraduate and professional specialization programs. They are directed by a director who, in turn, reports to a committee.

Institutes

The main mission of institutes is the development of academic disciplines, supported by research. They conduct studies in consolidated lines of research and offer master’s degrees, PhDs, postdoctoral programs, as well as undergraduate and academic specialization programs; additionally, they offer outreach services and courses. They are directed by a director who, in turn, reports to a committee.

Corporations

Besides the same conditions institutes or schools meet, corporations must also develop interdisciplinary work with various faculties, gather a minimum of nationwide or worldwide renowned researchers or advisors, manage a considerable amount of projects—or large projects—and conduct research studies in partnership with national or international entities. Currently, they do not offer undergraduate or graduate programs.
