Language Assistant Exchange program
Language Assistant Exchange program
With the purpose of strengthening the language departments of Colombian education institutions, the Colombian Institute for Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad (abbreviated ICETEX in Spanish) has signed agreements for the teaching of English, French, German, and Portuguese as part of the Language Assistant Exchange program.
With the supervision of a full professor from Universidad de Antioquia, assistants support the academic processes of cultural teaching and learning of their mother tongues addressed to the university community members interested in acquiring them as their second language.
Language assistants of the ICETEX program will work the following hours:
-
Assistants from Great Britain: 18 hours per week
-
Assistants from France: 12 hours per week
-
Assistants from Brazil: 18 hours per week
-
Assistants from Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago: 18 hours per week
-
Assistants from the United States: 20 hours per week
The teaching center may increase, as needed, the number of hours per week, proportionally increasing the value established in the agreement, which must be agreed upon by the parties with the coordination of ICETEX.
