The Research Group offers the academic community and society in general high-impact research under the gaze of Social History; we study groups and social processes in long periods of time. Its members carry out business and institutional research. We offer seminars, colloquiums, conferences on problems of social history both of Colombia and Latin America, from the sixteenth century to the contemporary period.

We have a Research Hotbed for students, which aims to strengthen the GIHS (Social History Research Group) as a learning community that brings together teachers and students to acquire research competencies through the production and permanent debate of papers on History and Social Sciences; enhance collective work and academic debate among undergraduate students, graduate students and research teachers; teach peer assessment and socialize, among undergraduate students, the standards of specialized scientific production; disseminate the results of undergraduate research work through presentations at events and publications of high academic quality; favor autonomous organizational mechanisms among undergraduate students and strongly support their academic initiatives.
